Research Interests

The topic of climate change has always been of personal interest for me. That is why I decided to come to Pittsburgh after my Master's in Mathematics. With the Professional Masters in GIS and Remote Sensing I wanted to extend my professional skills with a background in both of these key sciences to enable me to work on environmental and climate impact questions. I have research experience from callobarations with the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and Carnegie Mellon University. Here I have worked on different topics such as the application of Lagrangian flow networks to describe the dynamics of geophysical flows such as ocean currents or atmospheric wind fields, the prediction of soil salinity using satellite data and machine learning techniques, as well as a statistical analysis on the probability of Coronal Mass Ejections.

I am interested in climate outreach and scientific communication as well as research opportunities.
