My research addresses the evolution of igneous and metamorphic terranes, phase relations/reactions, mineral physics, solid solution accommodations, halogen cycling and sequestration, and hydrothermal alteration. My recent interests include characterizing the halogen substitution mechanisms in the mineral apatite, with structural consequences, and using inclusions (fluid and mineral) in rigid mineral grains to understand conditions of rock formation.
