I retired from pediatric practice in January, 2017 after 26 years of office-based practice in the South Hills. I continue to work for Pediatric Alliance writing and editing The PediaBlog (www.thepediablog.com — check it out!) and chair two committees (Marketing and Social Media). I am a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and AAP Council on Environmental Health. As a consultant at SWPA Environmental Health Project for the last 3 years, my role primarily involves reaching out to health professionals to raise awareness about health effects linked to unconventional natural gas development in the Marcellus Shale region. I’ve been a board member of PSR-PA for a bit more than a year, reaching out on issues such as fracking, air pollution, and climate change. I am also a member of the Air Quality Collaborative of Allegheny County. Finally, I am a Climate Reality Project leader after my training in Pittsburgh last October.
